  • Dr. Thomas Steffen, State Secretary, Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy

In view of the current challenges facing the transatlantic partnership, Simone Menne, President of AmCham Germany, highlights: 鈥淒espite the high volatility in transatlantic economic relations, everyone would be well advised to keep in mind and further strengthen the strong foundation and unique successes of the world's most interconnected economic area. Future opportunities and successes will build on the existing foundations. To maintain and expand on these foundations, forward-looking political frameworks, their reliability, and the openness of markets on both sides are more essential today than ever before. All political stakeholders must take this into account if they want to promote investment, jobs, and growth effectively and efficiently.鈥

At the 19th Transatlantic Business Conference, AmCham Germany and Roland Berger will publish the results of the Transatlantic Business Barometer 2025, the long-established survey of AmCham Germany's U.S. and German member companies on economic and investment conditions in Germany and the U.S. After years of growing disillusionment, confidence is returning among U.S. companies in Germany. Marcus Berret, Global Managing Director at Roland Berger, emphasizes: 鈥淏oth U.S. and German companies are currently taking a more cautious look at each other's business locations. While the U.S. is losing its appeal, U.S. investors in Germany are feeling hopeful again for the first time in a long time 鈥 fueled by announced reforms. Now is the time to turn words into action: Germany must leverage its trust advantage and set the course for sustainably strengthening its business location by bringing together business, politics, and society.鈥
