On January 17, 2023, AmCham Germany's Regional Chapter North Rhine-Westphalia held one of its most important events: its well-known New Year鈥檚 Reception at the Hilton D眉sseldorf Hotel. The event brought together AmCham Germany members, the Government of North Rhine-Westphalia, the U.S. Consulte General, as well as leading and prominent executives of the business community to enjoy a pleasant and rewarding networking event.
AmCham Germany's Regional Chapter Chairs for North Rhine-Westphalia, Frank J酶rgensen and Theresa Winkels, welcomed our guests followed by Opening Remarks from the U.S. Commercial Consul Jay Carreiro.
Minister for Federal and European Affairs, International Affairs and Media of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Nathanael Liminski, highlighted the importance of continuing transatlantic cooperation, deepening collaboration, and readiness to work together in order to strengthen the economy together. He stressed the strong partnership between North Rhine-Westphalia and the U.S., mentioning that more than 1,600 U.S. companies are based in North Rhine-Westphalia and emphasizing the start of the NRW-USA Year 2023.
Dr. Stephan Keller, Mayor of the City of D眉sseldorf, recalled how the transatlantic business community has evolved in North-Rhine Westphalia鈥檚 capital, which is reflected in the NFL opening its Germany headquarters in the city. Moreover, the airline Delta will restart nonstop routes between the United States and D眉sseldorf.
AmCham Germany鈥檚 General Manager, Daniel Andrich, provided insights on AmCham Germany鈥檚 achievements in the past year, planning for 2023, and updated members on the Female Founders Award 2023 and the initiative Empower Her, the latter of which was developed by the the U.S. Commercial Service and our partners, the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union and AmChams in Europe.
