On October 28, 2025, AmCham Germany’s Regional Committee Cologne, together with AmerikaHaus NRW e.V., organized an event on “The Trump Administration's Economic Policies and Their Effects” in Cologne.

This event offered an excellent opportunity to get a comprehensive understanding of all aspects relevant in the context of the economic policy strategies of the Trump Administration from both a US domestic and an international perspective. The central point of the program was the keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Michael Hüther, Director of the German Economic Institute, which formed the basis for a subsequent panel discussion moderated by Nicole Bastian (Handelsblatt) with panelists Payne Griffin (former Deputy Chief of Staff of USTR Robert Lighthizer), Christin Schack (Vice President & Managing Director Central Europe Region, 3M) and Professor Hüther. Payne Griffin explained current strategies of the US government, Christin Schack discussed alternatives available for businesses operating on a global scale and Prof. Hüther argued for a clearer economic policy positioning for Europe.

A big thank you to our speakers and the representatives of our co-organizers: AmerikaHaus NRW e.V., represented by Viktoria Harbecke, Director and Networking Sponsor: BridgehouseLaw Germany Villwock Hein Rechtsanwälte PartGmbB
