The American Chamber of Commerce in Germany (AmCham Germany) is holding its Annual 青青草视频ship Meeting followed by a half-day Business Conference on May 28 in Frankfurt am Main. In addition to roughly 200 representatives of member companies, the public conference will be attended by economic policy-makers and top diplomats such as Alan Meltzer, Charg茅 d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, Karin M眉ller, State Secretary for Federal and European Affairs for the State of Hesse, and Armand Zorn, Deputy Chairman of the SPD Parliamentary Group in the German Bundestag.
On the occasion of its 121st 青青草视频ship Meeting, AmCham Germany conducted a compact survey among its member companies last week: For every second company that took part, the current political uncertainty in transatlantic economic relations is having a negative impact on their investment plans, for a further 14% it is very negative. The political unpredictability also applies to global trade. For 56% of member companies, this has a negative impact on their investment plans and for a further 10% a very negative impact.
However, Germany itself can and must solve major obstacles to growth. The top three include reducing bureaucracy in Germany (53%), at the EU level (51%) and stable, reliable political decision-making. More than one in three companies surveyed (35%) believe that Germany will be on a growth trajectory by mid-2026, almost one in four (23%) expect this to happen by the end of 2025 and almost one in five companies (19%) are unable to make an assessment.
Simone Menne, President of AmCham Germany, emphasizes: 鈥淔unctioning markets are constantly changing - due to real competition, changing customer needs, the disruptive power of innovation, entrepreneurial cost awareness and other factors. All of this is paralyzed, and with it new investments, by political uncertainties and a lack of consistency in framework conditions. Both politics and business want growth, jobs and prosperity. However, this requires more stability and reliability, especially in the transatlantic partnership.鈥�

Frankfurt, 28.5.2025 - Die Amerikanische Handelskammer in Deutschland (AmCham Germany) f眉hrt ihre diesj盲hrige Mitgliederversammlung mit einer anschlie脽enden halbt盲gigen Wirtschaftskonferenz am 28. Mai in Frankfurt a. M. durch. Neben mehr als 200 Vertreterinnen und Vertretern von Mitgliedsunternehmen nehmen an der 枚ffentlichen Konferenz Wirtschaftspolitikerinnen, -politiker und Spitzendiplomaten teil, wie Alan Meltzer, Charg茅 d鈥橝ffaires der US-Botschaft in Berlin, Karin M眉ller, Staatssekret盲rin f眉r Bundes- und Europaangelegenheiten in der Hessischen Landesregierung, und Armand Zorn, stellvertretender Vorsitzender der SPD-Fraktion im Bundestag.
Anl盲sslich ihrer 121. Mitgliederversammlung hat AmCham Germany in der Vorwoche eine Umfrage unter ihren Mitgliedsunternehmen durchgef眉hrt: F眉r jedes zweite Unternehmen, das daran teilgenommen hat, wirkt sich die aktuelle politische Unsicherheit in den transatlantischen Wirtschaftsbeziehungen negativ auf ihre Investitionspl盲ne aus, f眉r weitere 14% sehr negativ. Die politische Unsicherheit gilt auch f眉r den Welthandel. Hier beeinflusst das bei 56% der Mitgliedsunternehmen ihre Investitionspl盲ne negativ und f眉r weitere 10% sehr negativ.
Doch gro脽e Wachstumsbremsen kann und muss Deutschland selbst l枚sen. Zu den drei Top-Faktoren geh枚ren der Abbau von B眉rokratie in Deutschland (53%), auf EU-Ebene (51%) sowie stabile, zuverl盲ssige politische Entscheidungen. Bis Mitte 2026 schafft Deutschland es wieder auf den Wachstumspfad, glaubt mehr als jedes dritte befragte Unternehmen (35%); fast jedes vierte (23%) geht daf眉r von Ende 2025 aus, und fast jedes f眉nfte Unternehmen (19%) wagt keine Prognose.
Simone Menne, Pr盲sidentin von AmCham Germany betont: 鈥濬unktionierende M盲rkte befinden sich st盲ndig in der Ver盲nderung 鈥� durch echten Wettbewerb, sich ver盲ndernde Kundenbed眉rfnisse, die disruptive Kraft von Innovationen, unternehmerisches Kostenbewusstsein und andere Faktoren. All das wird gel盲hmt, und damit auch neue Investitionen, durch politische Unsicherheiten und fehlende Konsistenz in den Rahmenbedingungen. Politik wie Wirtschaft wollen Wachstum, Jobs und Wohlstand. Doch daf眉r ist jetzt, gerade in der transatlantischen Partnerschaft zun盲chst mehr Stabilit盲t und Zuverl盲ssigkeit gefordert.鈥�
