Expert Briefing with Teneo

Feb 03, 2026

Expert Event

Description

The American Chamber of Commerce in Germany e.V. (AmCham Germany) and Teneo Germany are hosting an exclusive Expert Briefing in Frankfurt am Main. The session is intended for senior corporate leaders and executives navigating an environment increasingly shaped by geopolitical uncertainty, regulatory scrutiny, and heightened shareholder expectations. Under the current U.S. administration, shifts in industrial and trade policy, tariff regimes, and foreign investment review are influencing how global companies plan and execute cross-border M&A transactions. At the same time activism dynamics continue to challenge Boards and management teams, adding an additional layer of complexity.

This briefing provides forward-looking insight into how these developments will shape transatlantic M&A in 2026. Drawing on Teneo’s advisory work with many of the world’s leading corporations, the discussion will consider how companies are adjusting their M&A strategies in response to political, regulatory, and market uncertainty, and how executive teams can prepare for complex deal environments and intensified stakeholder scrutiny. The event offers a confidential setting for senior leaders to exchange perspectives with peers and with seasoned advisors operating at the intersection of business, government, and financial markets.

We are delighted that Robert Mead, Chairman, Americas at Teneo, will be joining. With more than three decades as a strategic advisor and senior executive, Robert has guided CEOs and Boards of major multinational corporations through transformational transactions, portfolio shifts, and high-stakes strategic challenges. Since joining Teneo in 2015, he has led several of the firm’s largest global client relationships and advised on significant matters across M&A, activist defence, restructuring, governance transitions, regulatory issues, litigation support, and crisis situations, including high-profile transactions such as the U.S. Steel/Nippon Steel case. Prior to Teneo, he served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Aetna and held senior roles at Brunswick Group, Gavin Anderson & Co., and Sawyer Miller Consulting. He began his career in Texas politics and government and has completed executive programs at Babson, Kellogg, and MIT Sloan.

The Expert Briefing and discussion will be led by Felix Schönauer, CEO for Teneo in Germany, and will take place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at American Chamber of Commerce in Germany e.V., Börsenplatz 13–15, 60313 Frankfurt am Main. A light business lunch and refreshments will be provided.

We look forward to welcoming you for a timely and insightful discussion on the next phase of transatlantic M&A and strategic decision-making.
